Supporters of National Super Alliance (NASA) Member of Parliament Babu Owino have moved to hold demonstrations at the Milimani Law Courts.
The protesters are calling for the immediate release of the Embakasi East lawmaker even as the court is scheduled to deliver its ruling on his bail application on Wednesday.

The rowdy youth had camped at the courts during Tuesday's proceedings with some even attempting to forcefully free the legislator from police custody.

The former student leader spent Monday night at the Pangani Police Station and Tuesday night at the Kileleshwa Police Station for having called President Uhuru Kenyatta "mtoto wa mbwa".

Babu appeared before Magistrate Francis Andayi and was charged with two counts, one of subversion and another of uttering abusive words against the President, to which he pleaded not guilty.
"He is the kind of person who, if released, will not stop committing similar offences. The words he uttered are very serious," Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Nicholas Mutuku told the court.
His lawyers, led by senior counsel James Orengo and Otiende Amollo, defended him arguing that there is no single person called "the presidency".
