Kenyan Musician Nameless Hospitalised

Popular Kenyan musician David Mathenge aka Nameless has been in hospital for the past one week.

Nameless broke the sad news on his Instagram account ahead of a show dubbed 'The Kenyan Take Over' in Kampala, Uganda, where he was set to perform alongside Kenya's funnyman Eric Omondi.

He expressed regret that he would not make it for the show, set for Thursday, due to doctor's advice.

“Still undergoing treatment and observation and thus looks like tomorrow I can’t make it to Kampala.

“For now Eric Omondi is still going to represent us kesho very well (as we all know) accompanied by other top Ugandan comedians,” he added.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, a source close to his family confirmed that Nameless had been hospitalised with a serious ailment. He, however, declined to divulge more details on the nature of the sickness.

Nameless is regarded as one of modern music pioneers in Kenya alongside his Wife and fellow musician Wahu Kagwi.

He rose to fame in 1999 and has won a variety of awards including Kisima Music Awards, Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards, Tanzania Music Awards, Channel O Music Video and MTV Africa Music Awards.

The singer is also a trained architect with an undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi.

Here at Kenyans.co.ke we wish Nameless a quick recovery.
