Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has responded after being linked to the closure of University of Nairobi.
Earlier on Tuesday, several student leaders of the University claimed that they learnt the institution would be closed down from Kuria.
SONU chairman Jamal Birkal, while speaking during an interview on KTN, stated that the Gatundu legislator had posted about the closure on his social media pages almost 24 hours before it happened.
However, we would not establish the authenticity of the reports since a search on his social media could not locate the alleged posts.
Speaking during an interview with Kenyans.co.ke, Kuria rubbished those claims stating that the closure was inevitable.
"If you are sitting on the branch of a tree and you take a saw to it, the branch will fall and you will fall with it. You should not be surprised," stated Kuria.

The University was shut down on Tuesday by the Senate over 'security reasons.'
There has been tension at the institution since last week after anti-riot police brutalised several students in halls of residence and lecture halls.
Students had demanded the immediate release of their former leader and current Embakasi East Babu Owino but police used force to contain them.
The situation got worse on Monday night as they demanded the immediate resignation of Vice-Chancellor Prof Peter Mbithi.
Mbithi had confirmed that he called for reinforcement from police during the protests and his confession angered students who claimed police sexually harassed their colleagues.
