Why Kenyans Can't Stop Talking About Chiloba Today

Kenyans were on Thursday engaged in several debates on social media adding their voice into the hottest topics of the day including;

Chiloba

IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba on Thursday caused heated discussions on Twitter after The Star newspaper published a controversial headline about him.

The sensational title claimed that the CEO had accused Supreme Court judges of using "forged" data to make their ruling on the preisential petition

In his response, Mr Chiloba hit out at the local daily with a stating: "You know you never interviewed me. I am not aware of any statement you are referring to. Please educate me!"

Chiloba's response was received with some dissenting opinions laced with an accusatory tone.

Many other discussions around the Star article dominated social media especially regarding the the presidential election.

Clinical Officers

The topic trended after the Kenyan Clinical Officers called off their strike by signing a return-to-work-formula with governors and the Ministry of Health.

Despite the gain, social media users regretted that no compromise had been reached for the nurses whose strike is now past 100 days.

Catherine Namuye

On Google Trends, Catherine Namuye, the former Youth Fund CEO topped searches in Kenya.

Ms Namuye, unfortunately, collapsed and passed on at her Kileleshwa apartment on Thursday morning.

Witnesses in the neightbourhood stated that they heard screams from Namuye's home and therefore informed the authorities about the incident.

Medics who conducted initial investigations revealed that there were no injuries on the deceased's body.
