A Jubilee politician has been admitted to the hospital following allegations that he was poisoned by unknown individuals after taking a meal in a hotel in Kitale county.
Cheshari Lawrence Mokusu, the Member of County Assembly MCA for Kinyoro ward, Trans Nzoia is receiving treatment at Cherangany private hospital in Kitale hospital after his suspicions.
The politician suspected his food was poisoned when he took his lunch at 2.30 pm at the Makuti hotel in the region after feeling abdominal pains and headache.
Several journalists who attempted to get information from the hotel management were chased away including a K24 news reporter whose camera was snatched.

After performing medical tests, Emmanuel Kiprop, the medic at the hospital, confirmed that the politician was poisoned
"We examined him and found him with symptoms associated with food poisoning," he stated.
"We have put him on medication and are yet to conclude and be sure that he will be okay," he added.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing as the Police seek to identify the real culprits.
Four individuals have so far been held on suspicions that they were involved in the act.
