NASA Supporter Explains Why He Always Strips During Demos

A common scene during Opposition demonstrations where protesters strip off their clothes is an intimidation tactic, a NASA supporter has revealed.

Mr Wilson Aminda, who is often spotted leading the Opposition protests in Kisumu while bear-chested, has explained his actions as a means of getting attention.

Recent protests staged by NASA have been calling for the resignation of IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba.

According to Mr Aminda, he always strips when leading the demos to catch the attention of the IEBC CEO.

"When I strip, it gets the attention of Chiloba. I cannot address him in my official clothes.

"Kenyans cannot suffer because of one person or a few individuals. This country is bigger than Chiloba and President Uhuru Kenyatta. Chiloba’s exit will pave way for a free and fair election," Mr Aminda told Nation

The ardent supporter has been protesting while shirtless from 2013 and has blamed his joblessness on "poor governance over the years".

He has assured the Opposition leaders, as well as his family, that he was not about to quit leading the protests.

"Many people, including friends and relatives, on many occasions, call me to warn me against participating in demonstrations but I defy their calls because I am doing it for a good course. We must change this country," Aminda explained.

He further narrated how he came close to death during the 2016 protests against the then IEBC Chairman Issack Hassan and his team, when unfortunately, he lost his cousin.

"I tried to convince my cousin not to go, but he did not listen to me, only to find out later that he had been shot dead. This has affected me to date and at the same time given me the impetus to fight for reforms so that his death does not go in vain.

"My wife tells me to attend demos at my own peril. She tells me that when I die, she will enjoy compensation money. I even wonder where that money will come from," Aminda explained.

The NASA die-hard added that he will soldier on with the fight to ensure a good future for his daughter.
