Siaya Senator James Orengo Reveals 4 NASA Strongholds Under Siege

Siaya Senator James Orengo has revealed four areas where police are using excessive force during National Super Alliance (NASA) demos.

Speaking at Capitol Hill, Nairobi, Orengo noted that police officers were targeting Kisumu, Bondo, Migori and Homa Bay.

Orengo stated that police officers were profiling NASA protesters in the four areas that are largely NASA strongholds.

He further claimed that there were militias being recruited to "kill Nasa supporters".

“It is clear the police are using a different standard in responding to demonstrations in areas considered to be NASA strongholds,” Orengo stated.

“We will not sit back and watch. We will take actions that ensure people are protected,” he added.

Orengo accused acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet of committing crimes against humanity.

The Legislator condemned the tear-gassing of 20 nursery school pupils at Mount Carmel Academy in Kisumu County and the shooting of three NASA supporters in Bondo on Friday.

In Bondo, six NASA protesters were shot after they allegedly attempted to storm Bondo Police Station.

In Migori County, a 70-year-old woman Jeniffer Njenda who was on her way from the hospital and a boda-boda operator were shot and injured after protests turned chaotic.
