Raila Makes U-Turn on Holding Talks With Uhuru

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga on Saturday dismissed the plan to hold dialogue with President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the repeat presidential election.

Speaking in Ugenya, Siaya Constituency during the burial of his brother in law Caleb Oyeya, he noted that the room for dialogue stopped the moment he withdrew from the repeat presidential election.

“The room for dialogue ended on October 10 when I announced my withdrawal from the forthcoming elections," he stated.

Instead, the former Prime minister noted that Kenyans should wait for his major announcement on October 25th, the eve of the repeat election.

Mr Odinga indicated that his announcement will guide his supporters on the next course of action regarding the political impasse that has caused much tension in the country.

He also faulted President Kenyatta, and his deputy whom he stated were not ready to hold talks with him over the repeat election.

The former Prime Minister indicated that the Opposition is using all the avenues possible to ensure Uhuru's team does not clinch power through the back door.

He divulged that Jubilee is planning to retain power through unconstitutional means warning that Kenyans will not heed to that.

Meanwhile, Cotu Secretary-General Francis Atwoli who was also present at the event asked the two presidential candidates to hold a dialogue for the sake of the country.
