NASA MP Arrested

Matayos Member of Parliament Geoffrey Odanga was Friday evening arrested in Busia County over incitement claims during the presidential election.

Mr Odanga was apprehended near Busia Agricultural Training at around 6 pm.

Reports indicate that CID officers had been on the stakeout waiting for a chance to pounce on the opposition legislator.

He was taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in Busia for further interrogation.

Busia OCPD Makau Masai confirmed they had Mr Odanga in custody over claims that he incited youth to disrupt voting at Bwamani polling station on Thursday.

Similarly, on Friday, Mwingi Central Member of Parliament (MP) Gideon Mulyungi evaded arrest by police after making 'embarrassing' remarks on President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Dr Mulyungi could not be found when the police raided his home seeking to arrest him and his whereabout has not been established since then.

The Wiper Party MP is accused of having insulted President Kenyatta's manhood.

"He is not a superman. What is he trying to show us? If he removed his trousers and I remove mine, you will realize that my manhood is bigger than his. He is not a special man," the Opposition MP stated during an anti-election rally in Kitui.

The former Permanent Secretary went on to discredit the President's promises to the people of Ukambani region.

"Uhuru cannot tell me anything since I am well-endowed than him where it matters," Dr Mulyungi declared.
