Jubilee Politician Threatens Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho

Mombasa Gubernatorial looser Suleiman Shahbal has threatened to instigate a private prosecution against Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

This came after Joho and Kingi called the for secession of the Coastal region from the country.

Shahbal stated that the secession was National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga’s wider plan to capture power.

He added that the Governor and his team could not sell the self-determination agenda stating that he (Joho) should instead deal with important issues in the county.

“For the record, if this nonsense persists, please be forewarned that I will file a private prosecution case of treason against these irresponsible politicians. Do not divide Kenya,” Shahbal stated.

“This is political sycophancy answering the call from Raila who is now desperately clutching at straws for political relevance,” he added.

On Friday, Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) leaders termed the governors' secession plan insincere and selfish.

The MRC questioned the motives of the governors, further adding that the two never supported the movement when they called for secession years ago.

While calling for secession, NASA leaders explained that the Government had no moral authority to govern them.

"It is no longer feasible for us as a people to continue in a country that doesn't recognize our aspirations as legitimate," the leaders stated.
