National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale has announced that plans are in place for President Uhuru Kenyatta to become Deputy President William Ruto's Chief Campaigner for the 2022 General election.
Supposedly, the plan is to have President Uhuru start campaigning for DP Ruto two years to the end of his term.
Duale stated: "One of the President’s legacies is being the chief campaigner for Ruto. It is our expectation that during the last two years or so of his term, he will put in place all necessary infrastructure and become chief campaigner.
“This is to ensure his legacy and transformation agenda continues with the Deputy President,” Duale added.
This is despite the Supreme Court not yet having decided on the election petition challenging President Kenyatta's re-election.

As part of the Jubilee Party succession plan, a number of Central Kenya leaders are fronting to pick DP Ruto's Running Mate from among them.
The Star reports that a meeting was held on November 4 by a number of Mt Kenya Governors.
The meeting was meant to chart the way forward for the region regarding their place in national politics.
The Governors were reportedly concerned that President Kenyatta would stay in active politics even after the end of his term.
They also discussed the possibility of DP William Ruto picking his running mate from outside the Mt. Kenya region.
