Kenya's Trending Topics on 20th November 2017

Kenyans were on Monday excited after the Supreme Court dismissed two election petitions challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's win in the October 26 fresh presidential poll.

Jubilee Party supporters used the slogan #UhurutoTanoTena to share some interesting details on the Supreme Court ruling delivered by Chief Justice David Maraga.

One social media user noticed that the CJ did not mention God like he did during the preamble of the majority ruling on September 1.

While nullifying the August 8 presidential poll, CJ Maraga stated: "Before I read that determination I want to say this, the greatness of a nation lies in its fidelity to its constitution and a strict adherence to the rule of law and above all, the fear of God."

Contrary to that precedent, the CJ on Monday went right into reading the determination after a casual "Good morning" to those present at the court.
