President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Promise to 2017 Top KCPE Candidate [PHOTOS]

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday met Goldalyn Kakuya who emerged top in the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.

During the meeting at State House, the President congratulated the pupil for her remarkable achievement and promised to fully support Goldalyn who scored 455 marks out of the possible 500.

"Congratulated and had a chat with this year's top KCPE candidate Goldalyn Kakuya. Goldalyn has a very bright future and our Administration will ensure that she receives all the support she needs to fulfil her dreams," stated Kenyatta on Facebook.

The Head of State was accompanied by Deputy President William Ruto and nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura who is the National Coordinator of the Albinism Society of Kenya.

Ms Kakuya, a pupil living with albinism, had received a lot of praise from Mr Mwaura for having made them proud as he presented a cheque of Sh100,000 to her parents.

She thanked all those who supported her through her primary education further encouraging those with disabilities not to give up.

“Am really thankful to all those who supported me through this journey but don’t just celebrate me, let’s celebrate albinism and embrace people with disabilities to help them achieve their dreams, “Kakuya stated.

Additionally, the pupil and her family were also offered a five-day holiday package by Bonfire Adventures Company to celebrate the success.

This year’s KCPE examination was described as the most credible with no cases of cheating and leakages.
