Uhuru Given 3 Reasons Why He Should Retain CS Kaimenyi

President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to announce his new cabinet soon and several groups have already started mounting pressure on who should be retained.

Lobby groups from Meru and Tharaka-Nithi counties have asked the Head of State to retain Lands Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi and other principal secretaries from the community.

Speaking at Chuka University, the Ameru Professionals Association and Mount Kenya Youth Caucus stated that Mr Kaimenyi was one of the top performers in the Cabinet and his work was there for all to see.

They added that the CS had also played a crucial role in uniting the people of Meru County and was an integral part of leadership in the area.

The lobby groups further hailed Kaimenyi's tireless efforts to ensure President Kenyatta was re-elected, stating that he organised several fund-drives to facilitate campaigns.

“We would like the President to consider people who have worked hard to help him deliver his promises to Kenyans and to have him re-elected for a second term,” reiterated Chuka University Vice-Chancellor Prof Erastus Njoka.

He added that some leaders had been secretly fighting Kenyatta during his first term and now want top posts.

“We want people who are acceptable to residents of both Meru and Tharaka-Nithi counties,” remarked Prof Njoka.

The leaders also asked the Head of State to consider appointing a Cabinet Secretary from Tharaka-Nithi County, which according to them, has been 'marginalised for a long time.'

It remains to be seen who the President will appoint in his final-term and the repercussions of his actions.
