Peter Munya Explains The 1st Thing He Will Do If Appointed by Uhuru

Former Meru Governor Peter Munya on Friday promised to relinquish his position as the Party National Unity (PNU) leader if President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed him to the cabinet.

The PNU leader further indicated that his 2022 presidential bid will depend on the kind of job he will be given by the president.

“Depending on the nature of the job that the president will give me, I can’t confirm to you whether I will run for the presidency in 2022. I will review that decision when it is clear where I am going to serve.

“There are a lot of talented people who can take over from me within the party but that will again depend on the docket I will be handling,” he explained.

President Kenyatta is expected to reshuffle his cabinet soon after his swearing in for the second term in office as the President.

The former governor lost his seat during the August 8 election to Governor Kiraitu Murungi.

He temporarily joined the National Super Alliance (NASA) as the sixth principal but ditched a few days later and vowed to support Mr Kenyatta's presidential bid.

He filed a petition challenging the election of the Governor Kiraitu citing massive irregularities.

The PNU leader later withdrew the election petition filed at the High Courts owing to the promise of a state job by the president.
