Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris on Monday landed a new position in Parliament.

In the new position, Passaris will work with her colleagues to place all the other MPs in various committees of the House.

The Opposition, through the Minority Leader in the National Assembly John Mbadi, also submitted nominees for the House Business Committee and the Procedure and Rules Committee.

Those named in the House Business Committee are, Robert Mbui, Chris Wamalwa, and Beatrice Adagala.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mr Mbui confirmed that the list had been submitted to the clerk of the National Assembly.

In the Procedure and Rule, the coalition will be represented by Ben Momanyi, Tom Kajwang, Omboko Milemba, Olago Aluoch, Sulekha Hassan and Pamela Odhiambo.

NASA, however, failed to submit names for nominees to the Committee on Appointments stating that it did not recognise President Uhuru Kenyatta’s presidency.

The Minority Leader in the National Assembly is reported to have explained that the Presidency was yet to be filled and as such, there was no reason for them to submit their nominees.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that President Kenyatta is set to meet the Jubilee Members of Parliament on Tuesday to discuss on the party's appointments in parliament.
