Babu Owino Criticised Over Post on Raila's Swearing-in

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Monday was roasted by his social media followers for allegedly short-changing them.

Babu took to his Facebook to try and quell any pessimism surrounding the postponement of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga's swearing-in on Sunday.

“Our NASA supporters should not give up. I know the journey seems longer than we expected but I personally want to assure you all that we are headed to Canaan & we will finally get there,” Babu's post reads.

The legislator, however, did not receive reassuring reponses from Kenyans on social media.

Most of them expressed their dissappointment for the former Prime Minister posponing his swearing-in, claiming that he has been dragging them on a 'ride' and that the 'journey to Canaan' should end.

On Sunday, NASA through co-principal Musalia Mudavadi announced the postponement of the much publicized inauguration ceremony of its leader Mr Odinga as the leader of the People's President.

The fierce reactions from the section of Kenyans could barely hide their displeasure in the move by the opposition.

According the comments, some people cited that the NASA brigade was running out of options especially after President Uhuru Kenyatta was sworn-in for a second term.

Odinga’s advisor Salim Lone had, however, indicated that the major reason for the postponement was because of the absence of deputy Kalonzo Musyoka who has for the past six weeks been in Germany attending to his ailing wife.
