Isaac Ruto Breaks Silence on Getting Cabinet Position

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has finally broken the silence on getting a cabinet position in President Uhuru Kenyatta's fresh team.

Months after Ruto dumped the opposition for Jubilee Party, speculation was rife that he was eyeing a government position as a reward but he has rubbished those claims as unfounded.

Speaking at Kipreres in Bomet East, Ruto reiterated that he did not join Jubilee to get a job.

He insisted that his move was voluntary and stated that he was still the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader and had not abandoned his cause to champion for success of devolution in the country.

“In CCM, we have elected MPs, MCAs and supporters and we cannot dump them.

"We are working with Jubilee to ensure all that we were pushing for is realised," he revealed.

Ruto further stated that Jubilee had good plans for the country and needed to be supported to accomplish its agenda.

He called for unity and asked leaders to stop fighting, adding that he was fully behind Kenyatta and DP William Ruto in their quest to unite the nation.

“I supported UhuRuto in the run-up to the fresh presidential election because I know as leaders we should be able to live together and accommodate one another.

"We should be able to solve any differences that exist among us harmoniously,” he remarked.
