NASA Supporters Make Special Request to Joho

A section of National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters from Kisumu have asked Governor Hassan Joho make sure that the People's Assembly movement succeeds.

Speaking during a press briefing in Kisumu, the supporters led by Harrison Ombore applauded the Governor for his commitment to NASA and urged him to work with Machakos ex-Senator Johnson Muthama to make People's Assembly a reality.

"We recognize his Excellency Ali Hassan Joho for the good job he has done for the party. We urge him and Muthama to make sure that the People's assembly movement succeeds.

"Work hard so that People's assembly structure be made so that we continue with preparation for swearing in of the people's president Raila Odinga," Ombore stated.

The supporters vowed to stand to Mr Odinga adding that even though the coalition disappointed them after postponing the inauguration of the former Prime Minister, they will not relent.

"Our support still remains firm and we are on course to ensure that we succeed and the movement yields fruits for Kenyans.

Meanwhile, the Opposition Leader on Sunday presided over the first meeting of the People's Assembly in Kilifi County.

Addressing the assembly, NASA Strategist David Ndii stated that the coalition would remain on course in the plan to swear in Mr Odinga.

"NASA remains steadfast the recent polls were conducted in a flawed manner. If they persist, we will insist on our self-determination process and secede, we need to control the country's resources. Holding such forums is our constitutional right and so we shouldn't be threatened.

"NASA says the Peoples Assemblies will not compete with state instruments nor replace various County Assemblies. Our end game is to deliver a free fair democratic process in a bid to obtain electoral justice or secede," he explained.

The meeting was attended by Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi. Other leaders from the region were also in attendance.
