MP Aisha Jumwa Gets Emotional While Addressing Raila

Malindi Member of Parliament MP Aisha Jumwa on Sunday got emotional while addressing National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga.

While addressing Mr Odinga during the launch of people assembly's forum at the Sun and Sand hotel in Kilifi county,Ms Jumwa explained how she was holding back her tears as she expressed the relevance and influence of the NASA leader to the coastal people.

"Tunakupenda zaidi, you are the only hope ya watu wa pwani. Your Excellency, nimevaa miwani lakini machozi yananilengalenga." loosely translated to: We love you so much. You are the only hope for the Coastal people, Your Excellency, I have worn spectacles, but i am getting teary," she stated.

In comparison with the Nyanza people, the former Kilifi woman representative divulged that people from the Coastal region find a lot of significance in the NASA leader more than the Nyanza people value him.

"As leaders of the coast, we are proud to tell you that we value you even more than Nyanza people appreciate you, you are the only hope for the coastal people," she explained.

She expressed hope that a time would come when NASA activities could no longer be carried out in darkness but in broad daylight indicating that this will steer a way forward for significant reforms.

Mr Odinga is set to preside over the first people's assembly consultative forum in the coastal region.

The launch could see a national inaugural date set for close to 14 counties that passed a motion to approve the People’s Assembly motion.

The national inaugural date is set to precede the proposed inauguration of the opposition leader, which had initially been slated for December 12.
