Sonko Shuts Down 2 Popular Nightclubs in Nairobi

B-Club and Space Lounge, 2 of Nairobi's most popular nightclubs, were on Friday shut down by Nairobi County Government officials.

The clubs located in the Kilimani area were targeted for noise pollution as they are found in residential areas.

In a conversation with Kenyans.co.ke, Nairobi County Director of Communications Job Mwaura confirmed the move.

"It's true.It was because they are in residential areas," Mr Mwaura stated.

A Space Lounge representative who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke, however, divulged that they had resumed operations after the county officials left.

"Yes, they came.

"When they left, we were back open," she stated.

Kilimani residents have previously raised complaints about the noise that comes from the clubs.

The clubs have been accused of ignoring directives from the county government to lower their noise levels.

More clubs are reportedly targeted for closure in a move aimed at dealing with numerous complaints from city residents.
