State House Reveals What Will Happen Happen To 13 CSs

State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu has divulged what will happen to the 13 Cabinet secretaries who were not named by President Uhuru Kenyatta as part of his new team.

In a statement issued Saturday, Mr Esipisu stated that all CSs would remain in office until the President completes assembling his preferred team for his second term.

Mr Esipisu remarked that this was in line with a memorandum from the Head of Public Service issued in December 2017.

“In the coming days, His Excellency the President will complete the task of assembling the team to serve in his second term of office.

He will be guided by merit, integrity, commitment to service, and in terms of the Constitution,” Esipisu’s statement read in part.

On Friday, President Uhuru unveiled nine nominees to his Cabinet, leaving out some of the ministers currently serving in his administration.

President Uhuru Kenyatta shocked and surprised his handlers and confidantes alike when he unveiled nine nominees, dropping all the women in his earlier Cabinet.

CSs who were dropped were Mr Hassan Wario (Sports), Mr Mwangi Kiunjuri (Devolution), Jacob Kaimenyi (Lands), Eugene Wamalwa (Water), Willy Bett (Agriculture), Dan Kazungu(Mining), Adan Mohamed (Industrialisation)and Cleopa Mailu (Health).

“I will be making further announcements to fill Cabinet positions, to fill the positions of Principal Secretaries,” President Kenyatta stated.

He mentioned as well that he would speak on the fate of the Sagas (parastatals) as he continued to populate the Government with people who would be given the responsibility of executing his agenda over the next five years.
