The President further appointed Joseph Kinyua as the Head of Public Service and Kinuthia Mbugua as Comptroller of State House.

Nzioka Waita was named Chief Of Staff.

The announcement came just a day after Nairobi-based lawyer Donald Kipkorir asked Kenyatta to fire 3 Cabinet Secretaries on grounds of poor performance.

Those in Kipkorir's list were; James Macharia, Najib Balala and Fred Matiang'i, all of whom have been retained.

The President also stated that he had forwarded the names of former Turkana Senator John Munyes, former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani and Keriako Tobiko - who resigned as Director of Public Prosecutions, to parliament for vetting.

Late last year several leaders from Meru put pressure on Mr Kenyatta to drop Lands CS Jacob Kaimenyi for poor performance.

The leaders further alleged that Kaimenyi had brought division in the region and pleaded with the President to appoint someone else.
