President Zuma Reveals Why He Will Meet Uhuru This Week

South African President Jacob Zuma has announced that he will meet President Uhuru Kenyatta in Durban, South Africa on Thursday.

The scheduled meeting will take place at the Dr John Dube residence.

In a statement posted on his official website, Zuma noted that the trip would mark President Kenyatta's first working visit to South Africa since his inauguration on 28 November.

"The two Heads of State will also share perspectives on various issues of mutual importance, such as continental and international developments," the statement read in part.

President Zuma remarked that Kenya and South Africa enjoyed warm bilateral relations due to strong historical and political bonds.

He hailed Kenya as a strategic partner, especially on matters trade and security.

Zuma noted that several South African companies were operating in Kenya.

He specifically mentioned the companies' presence in sectors such as banking, insurance, accountancy, pharmaceuticals, retail, tourism and engineering.

President Kenyatta is currently in the spotlight as Kenyans wait to find out the full list of Cabinet Secretaries who will serve in his second term.

He recently announced a partial list of nominees, retaining six CSs from his first stint in office.
