30 Government Officials President Uhuru Kenyatta is Disappointed With

President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to be disappointed with a majority of the Principal Secretaries currently serving in the various government ministries.

The Standard reports that up to 32 of the 42 PSs are set for the axe after the President unveils his full second-term Cabinet.

According to sources who spoke with the leaders, the President is set to only retain 10 of the currently serving in the government.

PSs were not required to apply afresh for the position, however, those wishing to be considered for re-appointment wrote to Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua expressing their interest.

Insiders speculate that the President is disappointed with the 30 because some failed to deliver on their mandate, others were labelled "lazy" while some have "dirty files".

"Many will have it rough this time. The President is keen on delivering his pledges to the Kenyan people. If you had been given a chance to serve as PS -- or even CS -- and you have nothing to show for it, then your time is up.

"We don’t know many things about the President and his plans, but I can tell you without a doubt that he will not entertain laziness and mediocrity," a source conveyed.

According to the report, the 13 Cabinet Secretaries not named by the President for reinstatement will all be dropped by the second-term regime.

President Kenyatta is said to be holding meetings with various stakeholders over those who will replace the 13 CSs with at least six slots set aside for women.

Regional and gender balance as well as the ability to discharge duties are the President's key considerations with an aim to create his lasting legacy.

President Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have kept news of their full cabinet nominees a closely guarded secret with an assurance that they will have named the team before the end of January.
