Kieni Member of Parliament Kanini Kega asked foreign envoys to revoke visas of opposition legislators who were in support of the swearing-in of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka slated for 30th January 2018.
Speaking during a presser on Saturday, Mr Kega remarked that any legislator who signs the affidavit to endorse the swearing-in of the NASA leaders was setting the country up for destruction and should not be allowed to leave the country.
“If the international community is serious about ensuring Kenya remains peaceful, they should revoke visas of anyone who has appended their signature to endorse Raila Odinga’s swearing in,” Kega stated.
“What the NASA legislators are trying to do is plunge this country into chaos with a plan to escape to other countries together with their families. That should not be allowed,” he added.

He further noted that other supporters of the plan who were applying for visas should have their applications denied noting that all the planners and supporters of the oath plan should be prevented from leaving the country.
Mr Kega also stated that the revocation of visas should be extended to the leaders who were at the core of the swearing-in plan – Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka.
Opposition legislators began signing affidavits supporting the swearing-in of Raila Odinga as the “People’s President” in an event scheduled for January 30, 2018 in Nairobi.
ODM Communications Director Philip Etale noted that the process was aimed at binding the MPs to the resolution recognising Raila and Kalonzo as president and deputy president of the People’s Assembly respectively.
So far over 50 MPs are reported to have signed the affidavit among them Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Homa Bay Women Representative Gladys Wanga.

This comes after a section of NASA MPs, among them, Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka expressed discomfort with Raila’s oath plan stating they only recognise Uhuru Kenyatta as president.
