There is a new doll that has been a topic of discussion in Kenya and all over the world.
The doll, by the name Samantha, has been described as 'the most realistic sex robot you will ever see' by UK magazine, Express.
Its creator, Barcelona-based engineer Sergi Santos, stated that Samantha can respond to basic conversation and needs to be seduced before any action takes place.
“Basically she likes to be touched. She has different modes of interaction ― she has romantic, she has family and she has also sexy modes," he told the magazine.
The doll is able to respond to different scenarios because it was developed with artificial intelligence (AI).
The hyper-realistic robot, which is made from “polymer composite” retails at £2,500 which amounts to Sh 316,000.
According to the official retailers' website, syntheaamatus.com, the dolls and sex robots come with easy eye color change system which provides customers with an option to transform her looks in seconds.
In Kenya, the doll has been a topic of discussion with some men suggesting that they would go for the doll while many, mostly women, strongly opposed to it.
One user wrote: "We should support Samantha! There are more lonelier souls out here; we honestly do need her and you'll see how fast the economy will grow!"
"Resist resist Samantha, I think I'll start that movement," another declared.
"Resist Samantha, such things can bring cancer to you men better keep off and stay long haiyae."
Kenya Film and Classification Board CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, chimed in on the debate likening having sex with the doll to being intimate with a dead body.
"This Samantha thing is glorified necrophilia. There's no difference between having sex with a doll and doing it with a dead body!" he wrote on Sunday.
One user responded with: "Samantha is not dead. It moves and can tell your stories."
