EXCLUSIVE: Jalang'o Announces His 2022 Political Bid

Felix Odwour, commonly known as Jalang'o, on Friday officially declared an interest in the Kenyan political scene.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the Hot 96 breakfast show presenter, disclosed that he intends to run for the Lang'ata parliamentary seat in 2022.

He noted that he would give incumbent MP, Nixon Korir, time to serve for his term after which he would dive into the murky waters of politics.

Jalang'o stated: "Right now we have an active MP for the people of Lang'ata but in 2022, I will be their Member of Parliament."

The CEO of Arena Media mentioned that he cannot divulge which party he will go with yet, as he claims it is too early for that.

The once Citizen TV's Papa Shirandula actor, however, categorically highlighted that he does not intend to leave broadcast.

"I will not leave media. I will be the broadcast MP," he asserted.

Posing on his Instagram page, Jalang'o encouraged youth to work hard in their education, as he notes that it is important and that is the reason why he went back for his degree.

He later ended his caption with the hashtag #LangataMP2022

With his green suit and a leopard print blouse as his trademark, Jalang'o is confident he will oust the current Lang'ata MP.

However, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) member, Oscar Omoke, is in court seeking to have the August 8 results overturned on claims that the exercise was marred with irregularities that could have influenced the outcome of Mr Korir's win.

Omoke lost the election after garnering 39,593 votes to Korir’s 41,086 votes.

The High Court is yet to make a ruling on the petition.
