A section of Jubilee Party leaders from Bomet and Tharaka Nithi counties on Saturday expressed their disappointment over President Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet claiming that it was not all-inclusive.
The leaders noted that their counties overwhelmingly supported President Kenyatta's re-election but the same was not reflected in the cabinet appointments.
Bomet Woman Rep Joyce Korir asked the Jubilee government to consider the region in other jobs.
“As disgruntled Jubilee leaders from the region, we are shocked that not even a single position of Cabinet Secretary (CS) or Principal Secretary (PS) was given to us.
"We now demand to be given a Cabinet slot as we are equal to the opportunities being shared,” The Woman Rep was quoted by The Nation.
Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki on his part noted that it was unfair for them to massively support the President and fail to be appointed to Cabinet.
“Kuomba sio kwa kutupa mawe (Requesting is not by hurling stones).
“We cannot be a political stronghold for votes but when it comes to appointments, we are told our votes are insufficient,” he stated.
The Governor cautioned that if the same continue the Tharaka people may be forced to shift their allegiance.

Meanwhile, leaders from the western region thanked President Kenyatta for nominating former Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba as a Foreign Affairs chief administrative secretary.
The group which is allied to Jubilee stated that they believe Ababu is up to the task, further asking him to work closely with Governor Sospeter Ojaamong' regardless of their divergent political views.
Bunyala Central MCA Felix Omanyi, who is also the Busia Minority Leader, however, urged the president to consider appointing two or three more politicians from the region in various capacities.
"As much as we appreciate the appointment of our very own Namwamba, Rashid Echesa from Mumias, and Eugene Wamalwa, we need more since the government is big," he stated.
