Thika East

Thika East trended on Tuesday after 23-year-old Timothy Ndirangu was discovered dead along his 27-year-old girlfriend, Grace Wanjiru at Maguguni Village in Thika.

Residents of the area reported a peculiar smell coming from the couple's house and that is when authorities were called in.

"A pungent smell was coming from their house and when I peeped through the window I saw Ndirangu hanging on the roof and Wanjiru's body lying on the bed. I notified the village elder who called the authorities," Mr David Ndoti told reporters.

Wanjiru's cousin added: "When he left the first wife, he took Wanjiku as his lover. But the two have been fighting in the past two weeks after Wanjiku threatened to end the relationship.

"Last week on Thursday, he threatened to kill her and she reported the matter to Ngoliba Police Station where they were both summoned. They were made to sign affidavits declaring not to fight again," another witness explained.
