ANC Party Passes New Decision on Musalia Mudavadi

The Amani National Congress (ANC) party on Thursday took a stand against their party leader Musalia Mudavadi and opposed his move.

ANC announced that it had distanced itself from Mudavadi after he failed to attend the National Super Alliance (NASA) oath ceremony on January 30.

Speaking on behalf of the party, nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi agonised that some members of the Opposition had misled their their leader.

"ANC regrets that our party leader did not make it to Freedom Park but we make it clear that our MPs and Senators were present.

Co-principals Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka have since explained that their absence during the mega event was part of NASA's strategic plan.

In a presser on Thursday, the co-principals outlined that they were in support of Mr Odinga's swearing-in and that they were still firmly within the coalition.

The co-principals had earlier stated that Mr Odinga was sworn in after a failed summit meeting that had been scheduled on the same day.K

Kalonzo added that he had stayed away from Uhuru Park due to security concerns after his bodyguards were withdrawn.

"I know there is tension over what happened, Raila took an oath, and I never made it because of understandable circumstances.

"On the eve of the inauguration, Raila decided not to sleep at his place, but I opted to sleep at my place. But on the swearing-in day, the Police took all my bodyguards from my house in Karen, it seemed like a threat.

"We talked with my colleagues Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula, and when it was clear we couldn't make it, we asked Raila to proceed, we are very united. Jubilee remains illegitimate government, and we will do everything possible to get electoral justice," Kalonzo explained.
