Makadara MP George Aladwa Arrested

Makadara Member of Parliament (MP) George Aladwa was arrested on Friday night at Buruburu, Nairobi.

The leader of minority in the National Assembly Junet Mohamed confirmed his arrest stating that Aladwa was held at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation headquarters for several hours.

Police Spokesman Charles Owino divulged that the Opposition MP was probed over claims that he played a crucial role in masterminding the attack at Kalonzo's home.

According to the reports by Capital FM, Aladwa was also investigated for allegedly planning the chaos which erupted in Kibera on Friday.

He was later released on a free bond and is now expected to report to the DCI headquarters on Monday for further questioning.

His arrest comes a day after the arrest of self-proclaimed general of the outlawed National Resistance Movement (NRM) Miguna Miguna.

Ruaraka Member of Parliament Tom Joseph Kajwang was also arrested and charged with participating in an illegal assembly and administering an unlawful oath.

These arrests are part of the government’s crackdown on individuals and institutions who aided Raila Odinga’s ‘swearing-in’ fete as the People’s President.

Recently, a team of detectives had been set up at the DCI headquarters to investigate alleged illegal activities that took place during the now controversial swearing-in.
