DP William Ruto Clashes With Senator Moses Wetangula [VIDEO]

Deputy President William Ruto and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Saturday attended the burial ceremony of the late Yvonne Wamalwa in Kitale where they exchanged words when giving their speeches.

Wetangula who was first to address mourners affirmed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition's plan was still on course after they had sworn in Raila Odinga on Tuesday.

"We have a strategy of our own, we inaugurated Raila and now we are waiting to swear in Kalonzo," he stated.

He later turned his sentiments to the Deputy President expressing concern on how the country was being run.

"I want to tell My brother William Ruto that the country is having serious challenges. Nobody can dip his head in the sand saying all is well.

"We need a national conversation about our country. We can't say we respect the rule of law when police are used to prevent serving court orders," he conveyed.

On his part, Ruto stated that the time for politics had passed as Kenyans had already decided at which point he quoted Chinua Achebe 'God's case, no appeal' to emphasize his point.

"Moses is my friend and I told him but he didn't listen. You took a long time to decide who your flag bearer will be(addressing Wetangula). It took three years going to seminars, workshops, retreats. You delayed and stood no chance against us.

"We, on the other hand, were already prepared from the word go. and now that it is over you still want to give us trouble?" he stated.

DP Ruto advised NASA to prepare for the 2022 election, failure to which they should be ready for another defeat.

"Wait for 2022 We should stop lying to Kenyans that there will be another election next week or next month.

"And if you don't prepare yourselves again, you will lose in 222 like you did last year," he asserted amid cheers from the mourners.

In attendance was Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa who clarified that the Jubilee government had never neglected Yvonne Wamalwa prior to her death.
