Mudavadi Raises Alarm Over Government's Plan to Harm Him

National Super Alliance NASA Co-principal Musalia Mudavadi on Saturday raised the alarm over Jubilee administration's plans to injure him.

In a statement released by his secretary Kibisu Kabatesi, he noted that the withdrawal of his security and withholding of his gun was a signal that Jubilee intended to harm him.

“Protection and safety of Hon Mudavadi is a responsibility of the government of the day and to abrogate it is to signal that the Jubilee regime intends to injure him. Such predetermined harm will be caused whether he goes to court or not," the statement read.

Mudavadi also remarked that his license to carry a firearm and having armed bodyguards was not a favor from Jubilee but a legal obligation of the state.

“The security protection for Hon Musalia Mudavadi is by dint of the law governing the protection of former Vice-Presidents and Prime Minister.

“It cannot be implemented and withdrawn at the whim of police, incumbent minister or president. It cannot be selective and premised on ‘good’ behavior,” he explained.

Mudavadi noted that the country was being held hostage by the Jubilee regime and martial law was being implemented owing to the media shutdown, arrests of opposition leaders and the clampdown on civil rights groups,

"The country is being held hostage by a regime that first lost legitimacy and now all civility, and has now instituted a reign of terror an occupation army. We are under martial law.

“I warn Jubilee leaders that by completely violating the law, they’re setting a bad perilous precedent that will come to haunt them once out of power," Mudavadi conveyed.

He noted that NASA supporters should stop focusing on their weaknesses and unite in efforts against the Uhuru Kenyatta led government.
