Kalonzo Explains Why he is not a Coward

NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka's no-show at opposition leader Raila Odinga's 'swearing-in' was met with harsh criticism but he has come out to state he is not a coward.

Speaking during a Wiper Party meeting on Tuesday, Musyoka stated that he was more than ready to be sworn-in as deputy president.

“I am not a coward. We do not want to give empty dates and then we do not swear in. The commitment is there, how I wish I could do it even now.

“Not swearing-in for me was our own strategy. Now, we are handling this matter as the summit, the principals. Things have moved, and we need to strategise,” stated the former vice-president.

He also stated that the co-principals had to prepare for any eventuality even though they knew Odinga could not be arrested.

“We knew Raila was going to take an oath alone. We also knew they cannot arrest Raila but we had planned that if they arrested Mr Odinga, we could deal with that situation, but not all of us behind bars,” he reiterated.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana maintained that Wiper was firmly in NASA and any other sideshows should be ignored.

“We are in Nasa to stay, and anything else to the contrary is fiction. We will meet, and we will iron out these small things that have come out in the open in moments of anger,” he remarked.

Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula all missed the event and were labeled as traitors by NASA supporters.

NASA is set to meet on Friday to meet all its elected leaders to solve various issues that arose after Odinga's 'oath'.
