Gov't Should Bring Miguna Miguna Back on 1 Condition - Wetangula

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula on Wednesday stated that the government should respect the constitution after deporting Miguna Miguna on Tuesday night.

The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal stated that the Jubilee administration should bring back the self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general and cater for the costs.

"The Jubilee regime should read article 16 of the Constitution and stop fooling Kenyans about the deportation. Bring him back at your cost!" he tweeted.

Kenyans online were quick to react to the post stating that Miguna's deportation was as a result of Wetangula's cowardice when he did not show up for the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga.

Miguna was deported to Canada after being held by police for close to five days on the accusation of overseeing the swearing in of Odinga.

Earlier on Wednesday, Dr John Khaminwa, who is Miguna's lawyer, confirmed that the lawyer was placed on a KLM flight departing from Nairobi to Amsterdam a few minutes to 10 p.m.

Official government communication, through a tweet, conveyed: "Miguna is headed home. The court ordered he gets released and the Ministry of Interior obeyed the orders and even assisted him with a flight ticket home.

"Please note he renewed his Canadian Passport on June 16, 2017," Nexus handle tweeted.

In response, the controversial lawyer stated that he would initiate legal proceedings to invalidate his deportation to Canada.

He also stated that he would have the Kenyan government reinstate his passport.
