NASA Issues 3 Directives to Supporters from Saturday

The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition on Thursday issued three directives to its supporters which they are expected to follow from Saturday.

Addressing the media at Parliament Buildings, Suba South legislator John Mbadi called on all Kenyans to boycott President Uhuru Kenyatta's government.

“Kenya is a democracy and not anarchist. If this trend does not stop, beginning this weekend, we will ask law- abiding citizens to (1) stop obeying these laws, (2) stop cooperating with law enforcement agencies and (3) stop cooperating with the state and its agencies.

“When the state stops obeying the law, it’s time for citizens to follow suit. It’s time for civil disobedience,” he declared.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP added that Kenyans were justified to engage in civil disobedience after the Jubilee's blatant disregard for the law.

He stated that the Uhuru-led administration had infringed on media rights as well as the rights of NASA leaders by arresting them, cancelling their passports and withdrawing their security.

Earlier on Wednesday, Embakasi East legislator Babu Owino alleged that he could not leave Parliament Buildings for fear of being arrested.

Addressing a press briefing, Babu maintained that police had been stationed outside parliament waiting for him even after he was granted anticipatory bail by a Court of Law.

Babu urged the government to refrain from arresting Opposition leaders until the court finds them guilty.

His allegations come barely 24 hours after a High Court judge granted the NASA leaders a Sh100,000 anticipatory bail.
