Wavinya Ndeti Announces Next Action After Court Ruling

Former Kathiani Member of Parliament (MP), Wavinya Ndeti, on Friday announced that she would still pursue action against what she termed as oppression by an illegally instituted regime.

Issuing a statement just hours after the Machakos High Court Judge Aggrey Muchelule upheld Governor Alfred Mutua's August 8 win, the Wiper 2017 gubernatorial candidate invited her supporters to join the Opposition's pursuit to end electoral fraud.

"To our friends and the people of Machakos, I thank you for your support.

"Your vote didn't count and that's why I urge you all to join us in not recognizing the irresponsible, arrogant and disrespectful leadership of electoral thieves," the statement read in part.

She went on to outline that the only solution to ensure that future elections would be free and fair is the initiatives by the National Super Alliance (NASA).

"I urge fellow Kenyans to sacrifice anything they can to end electoral fraud. It should not be too easy to steal an election.

"Through patriotism and diligence, we have been able to unite the biggest and most patriotic coalition in Kenyan history; NASA. We must stand together as a coalition and look into the future with renewed optimism," Ms Ndeti stated.

Reacting to the court ruling, however, Governor Mutua urged Ms Ndeti to forget the loss and join him in serving the people of Machakos.

"Hon Wavinya Ndeti, I welcome you to come we work together. Yaliyopita si ndwele. Tugange yajayo (The past is gone. Let us forge ahead).

"Let us support elected leaders and demand from them creation of wealth and services," he stated.
