Matiang'i Reveals How Judiciary is Frustrating Him

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has hit out at the Judiciary accusing them of bias.

The CS cited several instances when he was frustrated by the Judiciary and suggested changes.

“Time has come for Kenyans to have a robust debate on the quality and kind of Judiciary we have. We are pretending that we have a credible Judiciary — we do not have one.

"I am one of the people who have been frustrated by their blatant bias. And we have clear cases of incompetence; we are so frustrated by the behaviour of this Judiciary,” he remarked.

The CS highlighted one instance when 172 police officers had been disciplined but they all got court orders to go back to work.

“In the last six months, we have disciplined 172 police officers and all of them got court orders that have enabled them to come back to work," he was quoted by the Nation.

Recently, Matiang'i banned the National Resistance Movement (NRM) stating that it was illegal.

NASA leader Raila Odinga, however, maintained that the CS has no power to ban the movement because it was not a registered entity yet.

Speaking in Luanda, Vihiga County when he addressed mourners at the burial of Justus Etale father to ODM Director of communication Philip Etale, the NASA leader stated that he would not be intimidated by threats of being charged with treason.

"I will not be intimidated and I will continue to work as the ‘People’s President’ of the Republic of Kenya.

"We are yet to register National Resistance Movement, how do you ban something that doesn't exist, they (Jubilee) have panicked," stated Odinga.
