Unless Raila is Sworn In There Won't be Electoral Justice - Moses Kuria

Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria stated that the electoral reforms that opposition leader Raila Odinga was calling for would only be beneficial if the NASA leader is sworn in.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kuria maintained that dialogue with NASA was a delusion that the opposition was selling to Kenyans.

"Electoral justice in Kenya will always be a mirage unless it results in the coronation of one Raila Amolo Odinga," Kuria maintained.

The Gatundu Member of Parliament further blamed opposition leader Raila Odinga for calling for what he termed as 'shedding the career blood' of former IEBC Chair Isaac Hassan.

Kuria recounted how in 2016 both Jubilee and the opposition formed teams to undertake electoral reforms but later NASA went to court to challenge some clauses.

"In 2016, after street protests, Sheesha Mondays and at least 4 deaths in Luo Nyanza, Jubilee and opposition agreed to form a Joint Parliamentary Select Committee to undertake electoral reforms.

"The opposition then went to court 38 times challenging different clauses of the bi-partisan agreement. Now they want us to start the circus again," he added.

NASA had called for Jubilee to soften stance and engage them in constructive dialogue before the mock 'swearing-in' ceremony of the coalition leader Raila Odinga.

National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi and his Senate counterpart Moses Wetangula previously stated that the coalition was ready to discuss the issues they raised on electoral reforms.

However, the Executive maintained that they will only dialogue on the country's economic agenda.
