Former Kakamega Senator, Boni Khalwale, on Tuesday explained that the Luhya and Luo regions would never recognize President Uhuru Kenyatta as the legitimate leader of the country because of Jubilee's failure to implement projects in the regions.
Speaking during a panel discussion on NTV, the Opposition leader stated that since Jubilee came to power in 2013, most of the projects were launched in the Central region while discriminating NASA areas.
He cited multi-billion projects that had been launched in Jubilee strongholds including Karemenu dam in Kiambu and Ruiru dam which he stated cost a jointly Sh41 Billion.
"When it comes to appropriating budget you take Sh63 Billion to Kiambu, (Uhuru's backyard) and take nothing to Kakamega and nothing to Homabay and you expect the leaders from these areas to say we recognize this Government and it is doing a good job? Don't be surprised (when that doesn't happen).
"President Uhuru is legally the President of Kenya but lacks the legitimacy to run the country. Raila is the People's President but he lacks the legal authority to execute any government agenda being a stalemate," he conveyed.

He further called on President Kenyatta to hold a dialogue with Odinga to move the country forward.
"Uhuru, stop the crackdown. Raila, halt the bravado. Lead us to the National table of dialogue and brotherhood," he conveyed.
Earlier in January, Deputy President William Ruto announced plans to improve road networks and establish water projects in Kiambu county to the tune of Sh50 Billion.
Construction of a Sh24 Billion dam in Gatundu North constituency is set to begin in March 2018 and be completed in two years.
The government, in December, kicked off phase one of the 600-acre project which involves compensating farmers whose land will be acquired for the project. Sh400 Million has been disbursed to this end.
Furthermore, in November, President Kenyatta launched Thiba Dam Project in Kirinyaga County in a joint venture with the Japanese Government, which pumped Sh12 Billion into the project while Kenya chipped in with Sh5 Billion.
