27 Primary Schools Fail to Open For 2nd Term Over Insecurity Concerns

More than 34,000 pupils in Baringo County will not be going back to school immediately as schools open for the second term, due to insecurity.

Speaking in Nakuru, KNUT Baringo secretary general Charles Kamuren said 27 primary schools and 44 nursery schools have been closed in Baringo North and Baringo South as cattle rustling continues to be witnessed in the area.

Reports from the region show that cattle rustling continues to prevail despite the government's efforts in trying to stop the vice.

Lugus, Mukutane, Arabal and Chebinyiny are some of the affected areas with most schools in the region being closed.
