Kalonzo Welcomed to Join Jubilee

Jubilee leaders led by Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki on Thursday stated that they were ready to welcome Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to their party.

Speaking yesterday during the launch of the upgrading of the 20-kilometre Kajuki-Kabururu- Ishiara road in Chuka/Igambang’ombe constituency, the Governor assured the National Super Alliance (NASA) Principal that he could decamp to the ruling party as his next move.

"We will welcome Kalonzo with open arms so that we can work together to develop the country by uniting our county with Ukambani counties," he stated.

Chuka/Igambangombe legislator Patrick Munene Stated that it would be a wise move for Kalonzo to abandon Raila Odinga for his political survival.

“Raila went on to swear himself in as the people’s president and within no time, he started calling for elections in August. This shows that he has run out of political ideas and Mr Kalonzo should abandon him,” the legislator stated.

Governor Njuki hit out at opposition MPs for not attending parliamentary sittings at the expense of the taxpayer.

"NASA MPs and senators should know that they were elected to represent their people in their respective Houses and that is what they are paid for," he conveyed.

Also present during the launch was the county Deputy Governor Nyamu Kagwima.

Earlier this week, Kalonzo maintained that he was ready to support Raila Odinga should he choose to take another attempt at the presidency in 2022.

Speaking in Athi River on Tuesday, during Wiper Women's League convention, Kalonzo denied claims that he and two other NASA co-principals were planning to form a different coalition without Raila.

Kalonzo compared his relationship with Raila to one between conjoined twins maintaining that he will not abandon Raila, but will stick to the ideals of NASA as a registered coalition.

“I stood with Raila in 2013, stood by him in 2017 and I will still support him if need be. I am not a selfish leader. Raila and I are twins and whoever thinks they will cause disunity in NASA should think again,” Kalonzo stated.
