Moments after swearing-in at State House, Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary (CS), Margaret Kobia, was ordered by President Uhuru Kenyatta to board the helicopter and head out to Gilgil.

Immediately after concluding his speech on the oathing ceremony, President Kenyatta directed: "Margaret jipange, ndege iko pale tunaenda kazi Naivasha. Twende," (Margaret, get ready. The helicopter is over there. We are headed to work at Naivasha. Let us go.) which saw the other CSs burst out in laughter.

President Kenyatta was making reference to the National Youth Service (NYS) recruits Passing-Out Parade that he presided over at the NYS College at Gilgil, Naivasha.

NYS falls under the Ministry of Youth, a fact that saw CS Kobia find herself dispensing her ministerial duties on her swearing-in day.

She was among the nine Cabinet Secretaries that assumed office through an oathing ceremony at Statehouse witnessed by the President.

During the oathing event, the President promised the CSs his unwavering support urging them to support him in serving the country.

"You can count on my support as I will count on your support," President Kenyatta told the CSs.

He expressed optimism that the cooperation between the ministries and the Presidency would see the executive deliver "a better, more free, more prosperous Kenya, for our people and our children's children."

Speaking later on at the NYS pass out at Gilgil, the President indicated that NYS would play a crucial role in achieving the Big Four Agenda - a policy initiative that seeks to ensure food security, affordable housing, manufacturing and affordable healthcare.

He consequently requested NYS to commercialize its activities to align with the government's agenda taking special focus on agribusiness, garment making, and construction.

He also commended the recruits for what he regarded as endurance beyond the ordinary limits hence a proof of their capability to serve the nation.
