President Uhuru Kenyatta's Chief of Staff, Nzioka Waita, was a trending topic on Monday following an interview with KTN's Yvonne Okwara.

Under the topic "Nzioka Waita", the State House official was bashed by netizens on Twitter as some claimed that he had let his emotions get out of hand and had failed to conduct himself in a professional manner.

The Chief allegedly took it too personally when the journalist pressed him for a comment during a discussion on President Kenyatta's Cabinet picks.

Senate

The topic trended on Monday after National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale commented on the business conducted by the Senate ICT Committee that is chaired by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

Duale was calling for the immediate removal of the Chair after he led the committee in launching investigations into the government-instituted media shut down on January 30.

ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru also failed to appear before the committee for the second time despite invitations by the Senate Clerk.

According to Duale, the committee was ill-advised to conduct the proceedings while the High Court was yet to issue a ruling on a case brought before it by activist Okiya Omtatah.

Raila

Opposition leader Raila Odinga trended on Monday after he left the country to attend former Zimbabwe Opposition chief Morgan Tsvaingirai's funeral.

Reports indicated that the National Super Alliance (NASA) leader would be given an opportunity to speak at the funeral.

The NASA leader also called on supporters to ignore statements by "general" Miguna Miguna who had accused NASA strategist David Ndii and CEO Norman Magaya of colluding with Jubilee.
