What Will Force Uhuru Out of Presidency - Orengo Reveals

Siaya Senator James Orengo has on Monday told President Uhuru Kenyatta that the opposition will not forcefully remove him as President, but that "circumstances will force him out very soon."

Orengo, who was speaking at  the disbursement of Gem CDF bursaries in Wagai on Monday, further stated that President Kenyatta's exit was 'predestined' and that Raila Odinga would take over from him.

“Uhuru will surrender the presidency without bloodshed being involved. Raila will, thereafter, take up the reins of government.

“The current situation in Kenya will force Uhuru to relinquish power prematurely,” the legislator stated.

Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo were among those who echoed Orengo's sentiments.

Orengo further noted that President Kenyatta's resignation would be a big blow to Jubilee Party leaders who did not see it coming.

“Jubilee leaders will be disappointed by that development, but unfortunately for them, that will be the case,” he added.

Earlier on Friday, Justice John Mativo of the High Court suspended the Government's decision to revoke the passports of 7 NASA leaders, with Orengo among them.

Passports belonging to Orengo, NASA strategist David Ndii, businessman Jimi Wanjigi and other leaders had been suspended as part of the crackdown that followed the January 30 swearing in of Odinga as the People's President.

Justice Mativo issued orders restraining the government from interfering with the leaders' travel documents and any movements in and out of the country.
