Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli addressed allegations that he had joined the National Super Alliance (NASA).
Speaking on Wednesday, Atwoli maintained that his endorsement of NASA Co-Principal Musalia Mudavadi as Luhya spokesman should not be misinterpreted to mean he joined the Opposition.
The COTU boss further maintained that he was a member of Kenya African National Union (KANU) and had no plans of moving to NASA adding that can't interfere in the coalition's affairs.
Atwoli is a member of KANU since the party had close working ties with COTU during the Moi era.

"All I know is that Mudavadi is the Luhya community spokesman. It is up to him to forge his way out in NASA," Atwoli told journalists.
"I cannot comment on matters of a coalition I am not affiliated with as everyone knows I belong to Kanu," he stated.
Earlier on Sunday, Atwoli led Luhya leaders where they resolved that ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi shall remain as the community's spokesperson.
Philip Masinde, chairman of the Luhya council of elders, asked the leaders present to respect each other and unite in efforts to develop Western.
During the meeting, Mudavadi reiterated his commitment to the NASA coalition's ideologies and further welcomed criticism from Atwoli terming it as constructive and democratic.

"We are people who value criticism and my elder brother (Atwoli) was right to do so as its the one thing that makes us human," Mudavadi stated addressing criticism from the COTU boss who had earlier on remarked that the ANC leader had ceased being the Luhya spokesperson after missing Raila Odinga's 'swearing-in' ceremony.
