Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni's sarcastic apology during the EAC Summit left President Uhuru Kenyatta and other attendees bursting in laughter.
A seemingly irritated Museveni, who was hosting the meeting in Entebbe, expressed his dissatisfaction with the organizers due to the poor conditioning of the conference facility.
On taking to the podium, Museveni used the moment to apologize to the attendees while launching a veiled attack at his government officials for what he termed as habitual inconveniencing of his guests.

"I am very sorry about your suffering. I can see that you are all sweating. This is all thanks to the poor organization by the Ugandan group," Museveni began the apology.
"They're always determined to inconvenience our visitors... so they brought you to this squeezed place, and then they made sure the air conditioning is not working.
"We could have done better if we sat outside and just enjoyed the Lake Victoria breeze," he stated.
In particular, Museveni singled out the protocol officers over their failure to make prior arrangements on a spacious and conducive environment for the meeting that hosted Heads of State from the East African Community.
"The doors are not properly sealed so the air conditioning is going out. And you say we have protocol officers you see them moving up and down," Museveni went into a rage which saw the guests including President Kenyatta burst out laughing.
Museveni promised the attendants that it would be the last time he would tolerate the actions by the Ugandan officials in-charge of organizing the meeting.
The Ugandan President sincerely apologized to the attendees for the poor air conditioning of the conference hall and "the spoiling of their working holiday."
