Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet have been ordered to appear before the court in person.
High Court Judge Roselyn Aburili summoned the two after they failed to reinstate Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka's security.
The Judge maintained that CS Matiang'i and IG Boinnet ought to appear before her to show cause as to why they should not be jailed for contempt of court.
Justice Aburili had barred the government from withdrawing Kalonzo's security detail and also issued orders stopping the government from revoking the NASA co-principal's firearm licence.

In the orders, Justice Aburili directed the chief licensing officer to renew and reinstate the firearm certificate which had been issued to Kalonzo within 10 days after the orders.
"Orders are hereby made prohibiting the respondents, either acting by themselves or through their agents and or servants, from arresting the applicant for being in possession of Beretta pistol 380S/NOH21657Y," read part of the orders.
The judge further maintained that the government should file a motion for compliance by February 27 failure to which they will be held liable.
Kalonzo had sued the national government for withdrawing his security and revoking his firearm license.
He maintained that security was withdrawn from his homes without notice and called it a breach of the Retirement Benefits under the Deputy President and Designated Officers Act of 2015.

Kalonzo remarked that the state had not written to him, as required by law, explaining why he was unfit to carry a firearm or how he violated conditions for possessing one.
