Linus Kaikai, the former NTV General Manager, has been replaced two days after leaving the Nation Media Group (NMG).
An announcement seen by Kenyans.co.ke indicated that Kaikai, who worked in the broadcasting division, had been replaced by one Alex Kobia.
According to David Kiamba, the NMG human resources director who released the statement, Kobia's responsibility will include the overall management of the broadcast division at the Nation Media Group.
This means he will be in-charge of NTV Kenya and Uganda as well the vernacular (Luganda) KFM radio station and Spark TV.
“He will lead our strategic effort in driving growth in the areas of programming, convergence, and commercial,” Kiamba elaborated.

Kobias's main duty will be ensuring that the division performs so as to meet the overall strategy of the media company through the formulation and successful implementation of policies.
He holds a Masters in Science from the University of Liverpool and a Bachelor of Arts (architecture and development) from the University of Nairobi.
Kobia formerly worked at Al Jazeera Media Group until his assumption of the new position.
During his tenure at Al Jazeera, Kobia worked as the head of sales and distribution in Sub-Saharan Africa and hence brings his rich experience on board.
In the course of his career, Kobia also worked with Kenya Television Network (KTN), Africa Media Group as the Managing Director, Sanyu Television Uganda and TV Africa Kenya and Uganda.
Earlier reports had it that his predecessor, Kaikai, is expected to move to Royal Media Services to replace Farida Karoney who was appointed Lands Cabinet Secretary.
